Originally from Nova Scotia, Mike Ritchie is a Montreal based musician and recording engineer, creating transportive, immersive, and introspective ambient music inspired by his work in spatial audio for virtual realty.

After completing a Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University and Audio Engineering Diploma from The Banff Centre, Mike worked as a music producer and audio engineer before specializing in immersive spatial audio for virtual reality. Since joining the audio team at Headspace Studios in Montreal, he has worked on two Emmy Award winning documentaries - The People's House: Inside the White House with Barak and Michelle Obama, and Space Explorers: The ISS Experience, documenting life on board the International Space Station in virtual reality, as well as other immersive experiences include projects with Eminem, Drake, Wes Anderson, and the 2016 NBA Finals.

Mike has released four solo albums, including the original soundtrack for the Cannes Award winning documentary Forest Man, which he also produced.

His upcoming album Delta Waves is a collection of dreamy, otherworldly compositions that are perfect for relaxation or meditation. Each track is crafted to transport the listener with lush soundscapes that ebb and flow like the tides.

What sets this album apart from his previous work is its innovative use of Dolby Atmos spatial audio technology. This cutting-edge technology allows for an immersive, three-dimensional listening experience that makes it feel like the music is coming from all around you.
